APPAREL SUPPLY CHAIN WORLDWIDE

Navigating shifts in the global apparel supply chain involves gaining visibility across increasingly opaque fast fashion value networks. A 2023 transparency index named Italian retailer OVS the top fashion brand for radical openness.

Auditing supply chains of companies like Primark, HM, Zara, and CandA shows the following on their supplier base and manufacturing hub dynamics:

  1. Primark relies on 444 factories in China
  2. Fast fashion giant H&M sources apparel from over 800 factories across the globe
  3. Sprawling InditexGroup, parent to Zara, has 404 suppliers in China
  4. Value fashion retailer C&A’s no.1 apparel supplier country is Brazil with 798 factories

China used to be the undisputed top clothing manufacturing location globally, but its apparel output has declined 30% since 2015. Meanwhile, Vietnam's garment exports have boomed over the past decade.

The global apparel supply chain faces volatility from increasing material costs, transport delays, and geopolitical tensions. If you're interested to understand the latest developments, please see the attached PDF report for an in-depth analysis.
